The School of Arts and Humanities offers its bachelor, master's and doctoral students several opportunities to attend one or two semesters of their course at a foreign institution.

International Mobility - Studies

Students of the School of Arts and Humanities can go out as Mobile Students under the Erasmus+ Program. They can choose to attend a foreign higher education institution

Students from the School of Arts and Humanities can also go abroad as Exchange Students, under one of several protocols and bilateral collaboration agreements with a selected set of other top foreign universities from all over the world. International Mobility - Internships

Students from the School of Arts and Humanities can also do an internship abroad under the Erasmus+ internships program.

National Mobility - Studies

National mobility under the Almeida Garrett Program offers students from the School of Arts and Humanities the opportunity to attend a semester at another Portuguese public university.

The School of Arts and Humanities participates in a growing number of international Master's and Doctoral Programs in Arts and Humanities, whose syllabus includes attendance at the School of Arts and Humanities and other foreign universities.

 

Erasmus+ Studies – Outgoing
Attendence of one to two semesters in a higher educaiton institution in a Eruopean Union country

The mobility under the Erasmus+ Studies Programme is aimed at students enrolled in a bachelor, master's or doctoral course at the School of Arts and Humanities who intend to attend one or two semesters in the European Union country.  The mobility is possible from the 2nd year of the course.

The School has more than 220 Erasmus+ mobility partners in more than 30 countries.

The Erasmus + Program provides the possibility of a grant, whose value varies depending on the destination country and the duration of the mobility.

 

Erasmus+ Traineeships – Outgoing
Curricular or extracurricular traineeship in a company, NGO or other institution in a European Union country

The Erasmus+ Traineeship Program allows students and recent graduates to do a professional traineeship in a European Union country. With the aim of providing an enriching experience in a work context, this program allows the development of skills that are highly valued by the labor market, such as the command of two or more foreign languages and the skills necessary to successfully integrate multicultural teams.

Students from the School of Arts and Humanities can apply for an Erasmus+ mobility to carry out a curricular or extracurricular traineeship. The traineeship has a variable duration, between 2 and 12 months. The search for traineeships is the responsibility of the students, who can consult platforms such as Erasmus Intern.org or PRAXIS.

Recent graduates can perform Erasmus+ Traineeship mobilities up to one year after their graduation date.

The Erasmus + Program provides the possibility to award a grant, whose value varies depending on the destination country and the duration of mobility.

 

Erasmus + International Credit Mobility - Outgoing
Attendance of one to two semesters in a higher education institution in a third country of the Erasmus+ Programme

If you want an international academic experience outside the European Union, you can apply for grants from the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Program. This program offers a range of study opportunities at higher education institutions in partner countries and thus supports the acquisition of skills, professional development and deepening knowledge of cultures from around the world.

The scholarship offer is announced annually and varies from year to year.  

The Erasmus + Program provides the possibility of a grant, whose value varies depending on the destination country and the duration of the mobility.

 

Exchange - Outgoing
One or two semesters at a higher education institution with an exchange agreement

Undergraduate, master's or doctoral students of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon wishing to study one or two semesters at a foreign university that is not included in the Erasmus+ bilateral agreements may do so as exchange students, under a cooperation agreement established by the School of Arts and Humanities.

Exchange mobilities carried out under such agreements do not foresee financial support from the School of Arts and Humanities. In some cases, fees or tuition may have to be paid. Students should inquire with the International Cooperation Office about the conditions of exchange with the partner institution they wish to attend.

The State or institutions in some countries may offer scholarships. Students should seek information about conditions and application requirements in good time for better planning of their mobility.

 

Almeida Garrett Program– Outgoing
Attendance of one semester in a national public education institution

Almeida Garrett Program is a national mobility program that allows students from the School of Arts and Humanities to attend a semester, with full academic recognition, in a Portuguese public university.

Undergraduate students of the School of Arts and Humanities who have completed at least 60 ECTS can participate in the Program; master's students can also participate from the second semester of their course.

The mobility under the scope of Almeida Garrett Program has a one-semester duration.

Visiting Student - Outgoing
Attendance of one or two semesters at a foreign higher education institution (no Erasmus+ agreement or exchange protocol)

The students of the School of Arts and Humanities may also carry out part of their studies in other foreign higher education institutions, with which the School of Arts and Humanities does not have a bilateral Erasmus+ agreement or a cooperation agreement for student exchange.

In this case, the student must maintain his/her link to the School of Arts and Humanities, so that mobility is possible and so that, as an enrolled student, he/she can request credit recognition for the course units he/she takes abroad.

It is the student's responsibility to contact the foreign higher education institution to obtain information about application and admission requirements, applicable fees and tuition fees, teaching offer, accommodation conditions and cost of living, etc. At the same time, the student should contact the International Cooperation Office of the School of Arts and Humanities in order to request information about the mobility period and request all the necessary informations to apply for the recognition of the course units to be taken at the foreign institution.

As a visiting student, students of the School of Arts and Humanities are required to pay tuition fees at the School of Arts and Humanities; they may also be subject to the payment of fees and tuition fees at the host higher education institution. The School of Arts and Humanities does not provide financial support for international mobility as a visiting student.
