
The School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL) welcome’s its new students for the 2025/2026 academic year with a special onboarding programme designed to foster academic, social, and cultural integration.
From 9 to 12 September, newly admitted students will be invited to explore the School — from the national heritage iconic building with its monumental atrium, to the Library, one of the largest university libraries in Portugal, as well as the support services that aid academic life.
This onboarding programme plays a key role in ensuring that every new student feels part of FLUL from the very first moment, has access to the different resources and support available, and starts to build the connections that will shape a successful and enriching university

MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN
ENROLMENT FOR 1st YEAR STUDENTS
Undergraduate Degrees:
Enrolment will take place from 25 August to 12 September, exclusively online via the FenixEdu FLUL Academic Portal.
A detailed description of all the steps required to complete enrolment and registration procedures for undergraduate programmes (both for the first and subsequent enrolment phases) is available at this link (information available only in Portuguese).
Questions regarding study plans, recommended pathways, and the enrolment in of course units for 2025/2026 academic year should be addressed to the Directors of the Undergraduate Studies (contacts available here - information available only in Portuguese).
From 25 to 28 August, most Directors of the Undergraduate Studies will hold information sessions (online or in person) to clarify questions about enrolment. The dates for the sessions are available here.
Master’s, PhD, and Non-Degree Programmes:
Enrolment for students admitted to start in the 1st semester will take place from 11 to 13 September, exclusively online via the FenixEdu FLUL Academic Portal.

CLASSES
Classes will begin on 15 September 2025. Referral to the Academic Calendar is recommended (information available only in Portuguese).
MENTORING PROGRAMME
The School of Arts and Humanities offers a Mentoring Programme that supports 1st-year undergraduate students (mentees) throughout the 1st semester, providing guidance from senior students in the same programme (mentors). WELCOME WEEK FOR NEW STUDENTS 2025/2026
The School of Arts and Humanities has prepared a special onboarding programme for new students joining in 2025/2026.
The programme includes several sessions taking place between 9 and 12 September. The sessions will be presented in Portuguese (PT) or in English (EN), as indicated in the program below.
In addition to the activities listed in the programme below, the following will also be available:
- 25-28 August, 9-16 September - Information Desk in the School Atrium, providing guidance and assistance.
- 11, 15 and 16 September - Exhibition of Student Association Activities: in the Pátio Plátano (11 September) and in the School Atrium (15 and 16 September).
Activities require prior registration through this form.
OPENING CEREMONY OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026
On 1 October 2025, at 4:00 PM, the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL) will hold the official Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year — a symbolic occasion marking the beginning of a new cycle of teaching, research, and knowledge sharing. The event will take place in Lecture Hall I of the School.
This ceremony offers an opportunity to welcome the entire academic community, celebrate the challenges and opportunities of the new academic year, and reflect on the central role of education, culture, and the humanities in shaping contemporary society.
